Testing it my sink any amount of substantial water greater than a fine mist immediately soaks through I am 6′ 4″ and the XL is plenty big enough. It’s enough blanket to fold lengthwise and fully cover my body from head to toe between the two halves with extra blanket to spare. It is lightweight and packs down very small, about the size of a qt nalgene bottle. As for warmth, I’ve only used it indoors so far but it is warmer than I expected. The XL size is great. Plenty enough length and width to wrap feet I bought this as a replacement for the regular size Jungle Blanket. I’m 5’11” / 175 lbs, and the regular size is just too small to be effective on its own outdoors. The XL size is great. Plenty enough length and width to wrap feet, tuck up over my head in the cold, and wrap around me to cut out drafts. I tried it on our porch overlooking the ocean on a pretty chilly night (around 50 F), with a stiff offshore breeze. While I wouldn’t say it was toasty, it did the job. I’m sure this will work…
It’s the woobie for big guys. It’s a woobie for big guys. I’m a 6′-1″ 250# guy with a broad build and a normal usgi woobie with or without a zipper gets very snug around the shoulders. With this XL jungle blanket I could wrap around and have extra to tuck around my feet and other cold spots. Basically this XL blanket fits a big guy like a regular woobie fits a little or regular sized guy. This blanket DOES NOT have the loft of a woobie, but the one side of it will block wind/rain/mud/whatever better than a woobie…
