large and warm I am asian and I love drinking hot soup during each meal, this thermos comes with 3 level of storage, which was perfectly design for my need. I was able to put rice or fried noodle in one counterpart and protein dish on another, this separate the dish from each other and avoiding mix flavor. the bottom counterpart I was able to put soup in. the seal was perfect and I test this by putting water in there, no leak even i turn it upside down. Good quality Put this thermos to a heat test. My husband poured boiling water from a electric kettle in the bottom and second chamber. He put a food thermometer in about 11 hours later and it held around 140 degrees. More than adequate to keep a lunch warm/hot. Good deal.
