The patented Wideslide wide opening makes filling, cleaning and draining the bladder easier than ever – and it’s 100% leakproof.
All SOURCE Hydration Systems are low maintenance & easy care thanks to our unique GlassLike and GrungeGuard technology. Water stored in a SOURCE Widepac tastes like water – no plastic taste thanks to our TasteFree Technology!
The Widepac hydration bladder from Source Outdoor features a wide opening for easy filling, cleaning, draining, and ice insertion. Available in three different sizes ranging from 1.5 to 3-liter capacity.
Source’s glass-like film is smoother than standard TPU films with virtually no difference from glass itself, preventing bio-film build up and making the system virtually self-cleaning.
And the bladder retains a pure liquid taste with no plastic flavor.
Utilizing an FDA-approved and EPA-registered anti-microbial agent, Grunge Guard Technology inhibits bacteria growth on the reservoir and drinking tube surfaces for the life of the system.
The Widepac comes with a co-extruded tube and rounded Helix bite valve, which delivers a full flow with just a soft bite and a safety shutoff mechanism that won’t leak under pressure or with prolonged use.
The 90-degree design allows the tube to be shorter, minimizing excess tubing around your chest and creating an ideal drinking angle. It also includes a Dirt-Shield protective cover that protects the valve from valve from dirt,
sand, dust, mud, and other pollution. All Source hydration systems are BPA and phthalate free.

Like the reservoir but not the valve I have tried many different hydration reservoirs over the past years and Source are simply the most reliable in terms of leak-proof and easy to clean. However, the new style valve is just as bad as the previous one and I will be replacing it soon. It is huge and it leaked from day 1. Since I use this while bicycle commuting, any leakage drips from my shoulder right onto my right leg. Pretty annoying.Fortunately the tubing seems to be the same size across all brands and so it is easy to…
Survived a GoRuck Challenge For those not familiar w/ a GoRuck, it’s a looong physical/mental challenge put on by Special Ops members. Our particular team went through 12 grueling hours and about 20 miles of PT, running, lifting and getting wet. This Source hydration passed the test w/ flying colors. Rolling around on concrete, the hard black plastic protecting the bite valve held its own. Other people’s bite valves were cracking and started to leak after rolling on the concrete. Mine stayed in tact the entire 12 hours…
SOURCE >> CAMELBAK USAF issued me a Source hydration pack during training and at first I thought it was the result of some kind of shady DoD contract or something since I’d never heard of Source. After a few years of hard use in various climates, I came to appreciate the quality. Maintenance was minimal, taste was excellence, and durability was far beyond other similar products. The parts that finally broke were the string attached to filling cap (which is corrected by this new design), and the bite valve…
