Five Stars It works like a compass is suppose to work.
near perfect The angle gauge on top is attached with a pair of simple screws, which when the gauge is lifted can tighten, which causes the next time you lift the gauge, you’ll bend the sheet metal. I simple took it off when this happened, dont really need it and the rest of the compass is great.
Good compass if you don’t mind the weight. It’s ok. looks good. well made. works. Tough. my concern is that it is bulky and heavy. 11 oz. Car camping, day hikes where weight is not a concern, no problem. Backing packing ? – I recommend a much lighter compass. inclination meter is nice, just a swinging pointer, so not very accurate compared to the cell phone app you can get. If you need to find your way through the woods and hills, this, along with a topo map will get you there.
