Very good on keep food hot… except.. We have tried several different vacuum food jars and so far this is almost the best. It can keep the food hot for 3 to 4 hours (after putting hot water to warm it up first) so my kid has hot meal for lunch. The only downside is the opening is smaller than then the LunchBots thermal, so it is not that easy to get the last bit of food from the bottom. If Stanley makes a wide mouth thermal food jar I would get it in a heartbeat.

Thermos food jar has more pros !!! So after 4 hrs the Stanley measured at 137.6. The thermos 16 oz measured at 147.8. After another 4 hours Stanley measured at 82 and thermos stayed at 138.I added equal amounts of same temp water into both to test. For little kids the thermos is easier to openThe thermos food jar keeps food hotter longerPros for Stanley : opening is wider, see picture , has a spork. Also 18 oz capacity .Pros for thermos: keeps good hotter longer, easier to open by kids.

a hot mess I purchased this thermos to bring hot lunch with me to work. It kept the soup hot for several hours. I was hoping to use it for a variety of foods, but the 2 3/4″ wide mouth opening makes this jar hard to use for non-liquids. I was happy with soups though, but after I used the product a few times, the inner lid popped out in transit, giving me a surprise of hot soup spilling all over as I was unscrewing the outer cup-lid. You would expect a thermos to be designed to hold hot liquids,…
