Not a bad little kit Truly a 1-person kit, I liked the stainless steel better than the aluminum kits, and it wasn’t noticeably heavier. I definitely like this kit better than the cheapo coleman aluminum kit, which is basically just pie-plates.
Best stainless steel pot and pan set for the money At ~1.3 lbs, this set is plenty lightweight for the backpacker on a budget. ALWAYS buy stainless steel instead of aluminum for cooking on/in. The only two gripes I have about this set are: 1) the frying pan’s lid/plate isn’t useful as a lid because it lacks a handle of any kind, so it couldn’t be removed if hot 2) the “locking handle” on the frying pan only locks the whole set closed, but it does NOT lock into the open/extended position as pictured, so, while pouring/tilting the pan,…
I been abusing this mess kit sense 2012 I been abusing this mess kit sense 2012. I have burned food into it, placed it on the coals of a fire and scrub it with a green scratch pad every time I clean the outside of it.
