1100 lumens means 1100 lumens. Streamlight delivers once again. I purchased the light for patrol use. Walking up to a car with illegally tinted windows on a traffic stop at midnight is incredibly uneasy. I own the Stinger HP which is quite bright and I love it. That light is mounted in the car and comes every where with me. But I needed a new duty light for my belt and I needed one that would burn through tinted windows like butter. This light rips through windows and blinds anything in its path. I’ll let the picture speak for itself.

Fantastic light AWESOME LIGHT. Just received this light and tested it. It comes with both a CR123A battery, as well as a quality AA battery. Both batteries inserted into the light without issue. Upon inserting the AA, there is a small amount of spring pressure put on the battery in order to close the tail cap, however, it is a non issue.

The Streamlight Protac HL works well in the end, but not without hastle and more money spent in the begininng. I bought this flashlight because I work security detail in an ugly part of my city, and when I need a flashlight, I need it to work consistently every time – because my life could depend on it. For a standard flashlight, that may be too much to ask for, but for a flashlight of this reputation and price, I was expecting much more. I bought the Streamlight Protac HL 2 months ago. It worked for about a month (long enough for the return time to expire), and then the 600 lumen output drastically…
