The NEW DEUCE Ultralight Backpacking Trowel is now available in two more sizes!
#1 – .45oz 6.5″x2.4″ – for weight fanatics who work with the ins and outs of their gear (be sure to take a look at the directions graphic in the photo section)
#3 – 1oz – 8″x2.6″ – our full-sized trowel – bigger and stronger, a real beast of a trowel but it still weighs almost nothing.
New Inproved Design
All new 2018 Deuces feature four teeth on the leading edge of the blade that are just right for slicing through small roots as you run into them at the bottom of your hole. Yet the teeth aren’t so big or so many that they interfere with digging. Also new, the handle has small finger undulations to improve friction and grip.
About our Manufacturing
Please note that some colors and models are made in the US and some are made in Korea by DAC (the premier tent pole maker in the world BTW). The quality and lifetime guarantee is exactly the same regardless of where your Deuce is manufactured. For those that are interested, a quick glance at the photo or the color name, or the last bullet point once you’ve clicked on a color, will tell you where that exact model/color you’ve selected is manufactured. At The TentLab, we include the manufacturing location because we pride ourselves on being 100% honest and transparent with our valued customers.

Oh S!t. This seemed like a good idea. And probably is if you live in a place with good soil.I don’t. I live in Colorado, and when up in the mountains, well, lets just say that this doesn’t dig in moderately rocky soil for s*t. And when you have to s*t you really don’t want to play games.
Best on the market: ultralight, durable, affordable, & effective! The Deuce(R) Ultralight Backpacking Potty Trowel (Size #1) is a superb choice for an ultralight backpacking trowel. It’s just as light or LIGHTER than the much more expensive titanium trowels on the market. It’s thinness makes it very effective at penetrating moderately hard dirt. It’s shape gives it adequate durability to do the job (provided you use it correctly per the directions), and digging with the handle side down definitely allows it to penetrate better into hard/compact soil…
Love the idea Love the idea, weight is great, but it’s a little too short to get good leverage on anything tougher than sand. It bent almost every time I used it.
