Great backpack for keeping cold items cold and separate from non-cold items. We were a little skeptical of how this would work. But after having used it a few times we are very impressed. We like to freeze water bottles overnight prior to hiking. They have always been stuffed into our packs as-is. This backpack keeps them colder longer and doesn’t get everything else damp. I also like to walk to the grocery store and this is much better than carrying a freezer bag along with my canvas grocery bags.
So far I Love it! Product is well made, fairly priced and, after this past weekend, beach approved. Ice retention wasn’t great (6/10 rating), but my drinks remained cold. I will be using an gel icepack in combination with ice next time so as to improve ice life. Love that this thing has several pockets for keys, phones, wallets, etc. The open side pockets are also great. The bag has a good shape to it and, best of all, it doesn’t leak. It was comfortable on my back all day and the bottle opener … I used it all day from 9:00 am to about 10:00 pm in 80 degrees weather. I stored jello shots with two additional ice packs and it kept it cold and insulated. There was no leaking anywhere on the bag! It was comfortable on my back all day and the bottle opener came in handy. The little pockets all around the bag also came in handy to store my wallet, keys, sunglasses, and a charger!
