Sub par signal strength and antenna whip too short I bought this antenna to replace a Wilson Little Wil – which failed due to water infiltration & resulting corrosion after 2 years. The Wilson performed better. I have 3 problems with this Tram antenna after tuning with a SW meter: 1) the antenna is too short. Antennas are usually shipped extra long so that they can be trimmed to a length to give a strong signal. I had to extend the antenna past the lower set screw, so that now it is held in place by only the upper set screw. Hope it does not…

As good or better then a Lil Will Went with this Tram to replace my cracked/failed 3 y/o Lil Will.Tuned SWR easy. Comes with rubber mount and tapered antenna… these are better features then what the Lil Will offers.Great Buy!

Great preformance from a budget antenna! Its a basic little thing, but it works great! As good as a k40 or lil Wilson antenna for half the price. I had to trim mine down a 1/2 inch to get a flat SWR of 1.2 on channel 1 and 1.4 on channel 40. Its mounted on the trunk of my little Toyota Echo, and mated to a cobra 18WXIIST radio. On trips or in traffic it always gets out fine and I even use it to talk to my base unit from a distance of 8 miles from time to time. What more can you ask out of a sub $20.00 antenna?
