Introducing the Überleben Kräftig. Crafted from solid 1/2″ ferro rod.
Choose the rod length, its available in two sizes. 5-inch or 8-inch.
Size 5 inch. The Kräftig is 5″ long with a shock cord lanyard and 6-function multi-tool scraper, which includes a bottle opener.
Size 8 inch. If you think 8-inches of thick, high quality ferrocerium is overkill, you’re right. And sometimes overkill is exactly what you’ll need. Our gnarliest ferro rod to date.

Just plain amazing I researched ferro rods for weeks. I saw the reviews of this one and decided to get it. This thing is amazing! It seriously throws a shower of sparks. Ive used many cheap small rods but this one didnt let me down.
Remove coating first Works well, once you get the outer coating off. Getting the coating off takes some time and definitey improves performance. Once you have done that, you may find that cotton balls daybed with petroleum jelly works well as the medium to receive the shower of Sparks.
Just buy it. Don’t read just hit the button and start a fire.
