Introducing the überleben Kräftig. Crafted from solid 1/2″ ferro rod.
Choose the rod length, its available in three sizes. 3-inch, 5-inch or 8-inch.
Size 5 inch. The Kräftig is 5″ long with a shock cord lanyard and 6-function multi-tool scraper, which includes a bottle opener.
Size 8 inch. If you think 8-inches of thick, high quality ferrocerium is overkill, you’re right. And sometimes overkill is exactly what you’ll need. Our gnarliest ferro rod to date.

Best Ferro Rod EVER!!! I have the job for you, I looked for every single Ferro Rod on Amazon…. I finally got this one; this is the best option available! It is worth every single dollar, amazon quality control, perfect construction and incredible sparks!
Make sure you get the proper length! Good quality. Easy to use (just have to get the knack of it and scrape off the outer coating) but not as pictured because I didn’t pay attention and ordered the 5″ instead of the 8″You would have to be under water to not be able to get the sparks off the 5″ one but come on size matters 🙂 I wish I noticed the size drop down on the order page. Also the 5″ one is a perfect cylinder not tapered like the photo of the 8″ one.
