- To start a fire, follow the steps below: Prepare some kindling (withered grass, leaves, paper, etc.), Slowly scrape some magnesium from the lighter rod onto the kindling, Quickly scrape the lighter rod to create a spark onto the kindling

Awesome product. These are awesome. The price is very inexpensive and they work way better than any others I’ve tried. The size is perfect as well. I drill holes in one end and put a fishing line lanyard to attach to my knife sheaths. Work great!
As advertised. Arrived quickly and as advertised. To get a good spark remember to scrape off the outer “coating” on these rods to expose the ferro material.
Totally Tested and Approved. These Are GREAT! These are great. Make sure you measure and are getting the size you want, but these are exactly what I wanted and they work great. Sparks galore!!! Fit nicely inside an Altoids size tin, which is “everyone’s” big thing for a fire/tinderbox. I’ve gotten embers or flame on the first ( well aimed) strike to ignite wood scrapings, char cloth ( love char cloth), magnesium shavings, some loose threads from the leg hem of my jeans, etc..I got great sparks from a cutoff hacksaw blade scraper (…
