The NSF Standard for water filtration systems requires devices to reduce up to 15 contaminants that are commonly found in drinking water. This means our filtration systems are certified to remove contaminants such as copper, cysts, lead, sodium and chloride. How Does Reverse Osmosis Work? Reverse osmosis filtration works by applying high pressure to the water source, forcing pre-filtered water through a semipermeable membrane at a high rate leaving dissolved contaminants behind.
