It is made from splitting the stumps of pine trees that contain a high concentration of natural resin. GREAT stuff for getting fires started. Plenty of sap content I can’t speak to other people’s negative experiences with this product, but I bought the 50lb box for my GF’s father for xmas because he likes to have fires in the fireplace, and this seemed like a useful gift to that end.
