Worth the money This was definitely a good purchase for the amount I paid. My only criticism is the actual compass is separate and it falls out easily. It would have been nice to perhaps have a little latch or something to keep that sucker in.I read in other reviews that their compasses came in the color gray, but mine was true to the picture and was a nice brass. I did some research on the company’s products and it seems they sell the same compass with the gray feature… but they apparently…

The Best Compass I Own: Nice Vintage Look! Okay, I admit it.For some reason I am a “compass freak” and own about a dozen different types, but of all the ones I have purchased, I like this one the best. Gotta know which direction I am going. It has a nice “vintage” look and the brass body gives it a very “solid feel” such that it won’t break on your first day out hiking. The best feature, aside from a very responsive and accurate pointer, is the button that pops open the lid. Terrible condition. Very old looking Terrible condition. Very old looking, covered in fingerprints, the hinge is rusty, the clasp does not hold it shut unless you hold down the release whilst closing, does not spring open. I purchased the same item in silver in the past and it was immaculate, though the needle would stick. The needle sticks less on the brass, but it looks like it was in a damp box in someone’s cellar for 10 years.
