Different than a standard starter Instead of sticking a metal lighter in there and coming back in 10 mins, this one you hold over the charcoal as it blows super hot air. It does light with in a couple of mins which is nice because I can get the grill started faster for eating but it does blow pretty hard and red embers can swirl around and get on you if you aren’t careful.
Great product This electric fire starter works great. I’ve used it several times and I’m impressed with the workmanship of the product and the ease that it gets my charcoals going. I will definitely recommend it.
