Most thermal socks with merino wool have 50 to 60% merino, while ours have 80%. More merino means more warmth and comfort from the finest wool material. These socks are even softer on the inside, with brushed fleece linings. This makes them great for cold weather outdoor activities, as well as lounging around the house. Forget SmartWool socks – these don’t wear out in the heels! These are the most awesome warm socks EVER…and if you’re someone who is really bummed out that your smart wool sock heels wear through in just one winter (which they do), then these are the socks for you! I live in them (in a cold climate) and the heels or toes don’t wear through!! Fit both of us! We bought these socks to go hiking in Colorado. The 3 pairs is great and since we are new to hiking my husband and I were able to purchase one order and wear them both. We had gone to several stores before buying these and had bought different pairs to check them out. These were less expensive than the ones we had bought and worked just as well. Fakes? Or very low quality wool. I have other wool socks from reputable brands and these are nothing like them. They feel like acrylic and not wool at all. They are very slippery on the inside and do not breathe at all. Plus the toe box seams are inconsistent and run large. Second photo and third photo compare the outside vs inside of the sock.
