Works well Bought 4 of these – for my house and for several family members. I tried it out on water and gas lines at two houses, and it works just fine. My local fire department urges you to keep a tool like this near your gas meter, and to be sure your valve isn’t “stuck.” But note that they also caution you not to turn your gas all the way off when trying the tool, or your pilot lights will go out. Made in the USA and not made in China as all the others I have found are that are for sale on Amazon, need I say more. I cannot really say I love this but I do give it 5 stars because it is made well enough but most importantly at least in my opinion and all of the other manufactures that sell this similar product on Amazon are from what I have found all made in China and this one that is almost the same price as the ones made in China is made right here in the USA and that in and of itself is worth giving it 5 stars.
Gas meter size I bought this tool after reading other reviews. It is well built. The gas meter shutoff size is 1 1/2 by 1/2 inches. My meter is 1 by 7/16 inch. It will work, but it is a sloppy fit. Let’s get all of the emergency tool sizes on the Amazon site so shoppers know what they are buying!
