Doesn’t Seem Like Good Quality I bought this because I was told that Gladding made some of the genuine 550 paracord used in the military. This commercial version must be different. When you cut this open, the strands have that “wavy” look to them, very similar to the low-quality Rothco paracord that everyone is always complaining about. I wouldn’t trust this to hold much weight.
They gray was pretty dark, but I could still differentiate between it … I ordered the dark gray to make medical ID bracelets, because my Walmart decided to stop carrying all but eight colors. They gray was pretty dark, but I could still differentiate between it and black — but the skein was longer than I had expected. I did find it harder to cut than my other paracord (not from this seller), and the center strands seemed to slide out easily, if that makes sense. All in all, though, it braided well into a bracelet. Great color, I’ve bought it twice so far. I first purchased a short length of this color paracord to see if I would like the color. It seems very hard translate paracord pictures to the real product. I was very happy with the color and returned to order a longer piece. It’s a great color to make different paracord novelties. I did not test the working load to see if it will really hold 550 lbs but from what I can tell it should serve your purpose.
