Like carrying reading glasses in your wallet. You would need decent tinder and a sunny day to start a fire with this, but it is great for a magnifier that you can carry in your wallet. And if you are carrying a wallet, some thin paper could be there for burning, so probably not a problem. I use this to help reading menus in restaurants (you’d think a menu would be in legible, reasonably large type…), and for reading small print on bottles. No searching for a magnifying glass in drawers, it’s always in my wallet.

It will not fit in the wallet’s credit card slot with the yellow protector You need to keep the len in the yellow pouch to ensure it’s not scratched. But the yellow pouch is not in credit card size. Only the lens are in credit card size. So, it will not fit in your wallet’s credit card slot with the yellow pouch. So disappointed. Wow, they really work! I tried this Fresnel lens this morning and they worked way better than I expected considering the less than optimal conditions.I was able to ignite different things such as leaves, twigs, cardboard, and my film canister concoction of cotton balls with petroleum jelly and a sprinkle of magnesium chips,wow.I always try to have a minimum of at least three different fire making options while camping.
