Great survival tool Saving for a rainy day, and hopefully a day when we don’t have to use it.
Good Size for Large People I bought this Adventure Medical Kits’ Emergency Bivvy (US$15.00, 3.8oz – 108g) as part of my emergency gear in case of any enforced overnight due to injury, inclement weather, being lost or unable to get back to base in time on a day hike. I have twinned it with the MSR E-Bivy (10oz – 255g packed), also bought here on Amazon, so for under $100 and 13.8oz / 363g I have what I hope would be adequate protection to keep me alive overnight.
Within minutes I was totally toasty and spent the rest of the night very comfortable (too bad I’d waited about 2 hours before tr Have carried one of these emergency blankets around in races for years and never had reason to use one…until a couple of weeks ago. It was freezing, started raining and my sleeping bag got wet. I was shivering and thought ok, let’s try the emergency blanket and see if it works as advertised. It did!
