The Meramac series tents are all free standing 2-pole designs with shock corded fiberglass or aluminum ferrules. The ferrules are the “connectors” that hold the poles together and we use aluminum, rather than steel, because aluminum can never rust. Our fiberglass poles are also normally one size larger than normal to offer you a sturdier, stronger tent. We use lightweight but strong polyester fabrics. The side walls are uncoated so the tent can “breathe” under the urethane coated fly. The fly uses a pole in the top, which gives you an awning over each door for excellent rain protection. Our fly is full length on the sides, not 3/4 length like some others, for better weather protection. We even have our factory seal the seams on the floor and fly for maximum water repellency. Entry and exit are enhanced with 2 doors, which means if you have to get out at night, you don’t need to crawl over the others to get to the only door. The second door is also nice for extra ventilation in hot, muggy weather. Our door zippers are a #8, which is one size larger than most, for extra durability. Mesh storage pockets and a gear loft are included to help you keep your gear organized.Free Standing 2 Pole Design with Shock Corded Fiberglass Poles . Does not keep rain out. The 3 most important functions of a tent are keep the water out, keep the water out, and keep the water out. This tent failed on all 3. I slept in this tent for 17 nights on a trip though VA, PA, and NH. I also purchased the ALPS Tent Floor Saver for this tent. When it rained the inside of the tent got wet. 1). The water running off the fly on the left and right side splashes off the ground and onto the lower screening on the sides. Over time the water penetrates through the screening and…

IT’S ALL ABOUT THE VENTILATION!! i would give this tent 6 stars if i could. although this tent has a few shortcomings, the pluses are SO strong that this is undoubtedly the best value tent purchase i have ever made (and i own 5 tents). it has now been on three multi-day overnight trips and….the pluses:1– outstanding ventilation design. second to none [see note 1]2– a full door on each side of the tent [see note 2]3– construction quality similar to tents that cost 3X as much.4– easy…

Great Value This is a great tent if your looking to have a great 3 person tent at a great price. I have used this tent on a few weekend/car camping trips in the Ozark mountains. I have also used this tent in rain, wind, and in the freezing cold. It has not let me down.Pros: This tent is made out of really quality material and is very easy to set up. For the money it will be to find a better tent. Also Mountainnering makes great budget gear. I like the two door system so that you can access the…
