Good replacement for Brita So far these seem to be an equivalent to the original Brita filters. They are rated for the same 2 months/40 gallons and remove the chlorine taste the same. To me, they provide the same clean tasting water at a cheaper price. The filters installed in my Brita pitcher just as easily as the originals, made a good seal and had about the same filter rate in terms of flow-through. They also seem to filter the calcium sediment out of the tap water just as effectively. Brita has changed their new…
They don’t seem to seal properly. These look a bit different from the Brita filters (see photo) thought they appear to have the same overall shape. But when I insert them in the pitcher, they don’t seal the same way the Brita cartridges do. They slip into place, but when you press them in down to seal them, they pop up. If you hold them in while you fill the pitcher, water pressure seems you hold them in, but I suspect some water is leaking around the filter.
No Annoying Pre-Soaking I have had both Brita and PUR water pitchers for over a decade and usually have one of each filled in my fridge. One thing in common with both of these products is that their brand-name replacement filters are very over-priced and do not seem to offer any obvious advantages over cheaper replacement filters.
