Works as described with CB radios. I tested it and it works as described with CB radios. I have to be truthful in saying that I bought it for the parts. I used the top of the enclosure and one of the SO-239 connectors for an end fed half wave antenna tuner project and I used the meter in a lightning detector project. I put the potentiometer, one of the SO-239 connectors and switches in my spare parts box for other projects in the future so I am happy with this purchase!
It doesn’t take and expensive SWR meter to tune your … It doesn’t take and expensive SWR meter to tune your CB radio! This one confirmed my “pre-tuned” antenna was just that!! Pretuned!! 1.0 to 1.3 between channels 1 & 40. Others on the last club trip said I had the clearest and loudest transmissions (although this was the radio and antenna combination and not the SWR meter)!It doesn’t come w/ jumper cables. Dont’ forget to buy those!
SWR works, power does not Only the SWR meter worked on mine, the power meter is useless and reads the same max power regarless if I use a small 5W hand held or 50W mobile. But gets a few stars for SWR, that does work. These are cheap and tiny, but good enough for quick antenna tuning check.
