Well built, very bright, battery saving lantern. Seems rugged, solidly made with shock resistant qualities. I like the potential of days of use from 3 D cell batteries, using the lower light setting.The leds do seem to be 700 lumens as advertised.
I love these lanterns so much that this is the third … I love these lanterns so much that this is the third I’ve purchased. They are small and lightweight (easy to carry) and give a very good amount of light. With three D batteries, they will provide light for a full six days . Having lost power during Irma this year, these lanterns came in super handy. If you get confused with the initial battery setup, they have a video on YouTube that’s very helpful. Great overall value.
A vital for tool for your Emergency Preparedness kit, IMHO. After being without power for 7 days due to hurricane Irma, I decided I wanted a second AYL Starlight lantern. My original Starlight lantern ran for 6 days on 3 D-cell batteries with no appreciable loss in brightness and I wanted a second in my emergency kit. This new model is much brighter (700 lumen) than the older (600 lumen) model and still runs for 6 days straight on one set of batteries. I am very impressed with the Starlight lanterns and recommend them highly.
