Poor Design, Poor Fit, Too Hot While we love the Tula, we do not love this insert. It says it’s rated for a minimum weight, which our kiddo was well over, but we still had to prop her with a blanket under her bum for many weeks and it still didn’t seem to support her head properly. So, we used it less. I guess we learned that newborns, regardless of weight/height, would really need a carrier that’s a wrap – woven or stretch fabric, doesn’t matter. The Tula was just too spacious, even with insert, until she was at least 6…

Not enough head support I LOVE my Tula. I got it when my son was old enough to not need the insert so when I had another baby, I ordered the insert right away so I could use the Tula with her. I have to admit that I am a little disappointed. My daughter is about 10 lbs so she is big enough to use it, but I feel like it positions the baby awkwardly. Since she can’t hold her head up fully yet, she ends up leaning forward in the carrier and it just seems uncomfortable. She fusses when I put her in this. She seems much…

Love tula, hate this insert This insert does not offer any head support for my baby but she is only 7 lbs. It might work better for bigger babies. She also got a heat rash after being in this for an hour in the summer and we didn’t even leave our air conditioned house. Material is not breathable which makes it awful for summer use. I can’t imagine trying to use this outside in the summer. I’d be worried my baby would die of heat stroke. Also the Velcro on the base isn’t fully covered and scratches my babies ankles which…
