The latest radio to come from Baofeng! This radio has upped the bar on ham radio technology!
Compared to previous Baofeng products (UV-5R and the UV-B Series) this radio comes with a much louder speaker (1 watt!), a more solid design with larger buttons, and a better antenna.
This radio can be programmed with or without a PC to also work on private repeater systems.

Yeasu and Icom better pay attention!!!! Baofeng has really paid attention to their customersâ wants and needs.
Excellent radio, upgrade antenna and you’re golden. So I had to return the first one because it had a bad button, but this is still an EXCELLENT radio. Read other reviews about the performance, here I wanna talk about what antenna upgrade I chose.
What makes it different than the UV-5R I own a UV-5R+ and run a Nagoya NA-701 Antennae on top. After reading several reviews, I decided to give the UV-82 a shot. First and foremost, in my opinion and based on my first impressions of the radio – it does have better reception with it’s own stock antennae than the UV-5R+ does with even the Nagoya. Our local repeater is 10 miles away and I was able to hear the net check tonight without having to go outside. The reception’s sound was amazing, the guys came in loud and clear…
