Fits well, but kind of dim I wanted to LOVE this lamp, and, I did really like it. It just seems really dim. It was okay getting around camp at night and lighting my tent, but night hiking with this was more difficult than I intended. I played with the settings, but they seemed to only get dimmer. Still, good light, sturdy, lightweight, and overall pretty good.
Battery compartment needs work Loved their headlamps for years, great battery life, reliable, and bright. The newer versions have disappointed me though on 3 units I have purchased in the past year and a half. Every one of the 3 units lose battery contact internally and start to flicker or dim greatly while in use. This drains the battery to almost being dead. I used to get roughly 15 hours out of a set of batteries and never had reliability issues from Black Diamond, now it’s plagued every new model I’ve tried that has the…
A solid choice and good value My only real gripe is that It can be a little difficult to get the batteries out. Prying helps. Also be aware that this is a flood beam. Not a tight beam like is common with many other headlamps and flashlights. This does not throw light as far, but for close up work, it spreads a lot of light all around everywhere, which is great for task work or walking. Your full peripheral vision is illuminated.I have used many headlamps, and I find this one to be a solid performer…
