Nice features, + IT DIMS! This light has a nice suite of functions with a pretty small learning curve. It comes with a little “quick start” folder which I suggest you cover with packing tape to ruggedize/waterproof it and keep with the light till you know how to run it by heart. This item is way simpler than any cell phone I’ve owned, but if you don’t use it a lot then you have to relearn it each time. Did I mention that I love the dimming function? That you can dim each of its LED’s? Hello longer battery life!

Excellent buy when I bought it for $20; probably wouldn’t pay the $30-35 that I sometimes see this go for This headlamp has already been on a number of adventures with me, on overnight canoe trips, backpacking, and in my pocket for those day hikes that run a tad long. I will echo a few points made by other reviewers: First, it is indeed very easy to accidentally toggle the button and turn this on in your pack. It has only happened to me once, and I always carry spare batteries just in case, but that could be a trip-ruining event and this headlamp is worse in that regard than any of the other 4 or 5…

If you are looking for a high quality, easy to use, inexpensive headlight — this is it. I’ve had one of the much more expensive Black Diamond headlights for 10 years or so and always loved it. I picked up a couple of these for a last minute camping trip and was blown away by how well this works, especially given the very low price.I think BD did an exceptionally good job of programming the behavior of the switch that’s used to control the modes and brightness. Most inexpensive multifunction LED lights drive me insane with ridiculous modes and the need to cycle…
