Excellent hiker/BOB addition – highly recommend Excellent Fire Starter. Innovative, with the magnesium integrated into the flint. I was able to generate a very good spark with only a few strikes. The included “tool” makes it very easy to use & facilitates the spark generation. Read the directions included – the magnesium coated flint should be wiped to remove the light coating of protective oil before first use. That should solve most of the “Gee, it didn’t work” comments. Really didn’t care about the luminous handle, so…
Heating Things Up! First this is a nice sized rod. The striker works fairly well. Not sure if I will utilize the unit as a measuring device! Love that it glows in the dark too. The whistle while not super loud does produce enough decibels to alert someone near by. Overall I plan on buying more as Christmas gifts for my friends who are into camping and bushcraft. One can never have enough ferro rods IMHO. And this……is a really great product. Thanks Blize Tec!
