Deters but does not kill on contact FOGrx worked well out of the box. As suggested by others, I allowed sprayer to heat up five minutes before use. While the recommended spray effectively disburses the little buggers, it does not kill them on contact as claimed. I have used the fogger twice before cookouts and it does provide a two to three hour window of mosquito free time, it does not kill them–just repels them. Makes a really nice dense fog I have owned 3 Black Flags….one was returned to Lowe’s right out of the box. Two others leaked soon after owning. All of the Black Flag foggers had issues with properly heating the element. You had to let it heat up for several minutes and as soon as you started fogging (pumping the trigger 4-5 times) you would have to wait a minute or so for the tube to heat again. Mosquitos abated ! This is a Bonide brand propane powered insect fogger. While the seller and brand suggests that you use a Bonide brand insecticide, I purchased the Black Flag brand and it worked just fine. –More to the point, it was FANTASTIC. You will need to supply your own small propane bottle, but those are easy to find at tractor supply stores, WalMart, garden stores, outdoor stores, etc.
