What REALLY is Advanced About It? Very Little IMHO. I purchased a Brita filter that came with an Advanced filter but I bought an extra one just to have on hand. It’s been a long while since I have owned and used a Brita filter (or any filter for that matter) so this Advanced filter is something new. From reading the description it seemed like it was a revolution in the old soaking of a new replacement filter and all that jazz. This is a better filter than Mavea and Wamery. I tested it!! I have been wanting to know if the Britta original is a better filter than the generic versions such as Mavea and Wamery. I also wanted to see if the Britta is as good as low cost bottled water. So I purchased a Health Metric TDS (Total dissolved solids) tester from Amazon and set up an experiment.- Each filter is brand new.- Mavea and Britta do not require soaking.
