well made basic compass Well made and easy to use no frills compass at a good price. Setting the declination is easy enough providing the included instructions are followed. I keep this compass in my day pack along with local maps just on case and to practice basic navigation skills.
Great Compass: Better Value and Better Guarantee than Silva I bought this smaller Brunton compass to carry when traveling abroad. It is a fantastic value, but not as capable as more expensive compasses I own for land navigation (such as the ); although, it is smaller, less expensive, more portable, lighter weight and perfect for carrying in my pack or in my car. Bang for buck global needle design This is a resurrection of the Silva Voyager compass promoted as ‘multi-zone balanced’ dating from mid 2000s. It uses Brunton’s 9020 technology used by Silva during the time Silva owned Brunton. 9020 was later to be called the Brunton classic.
