superior quality Expensive, but S30V steel has far superior edge retention properties to 420HC steel. With proper care, I’m sure this knife would last several generations.
Beautiful knife, feels good in the hands Beautiful knife, feels good in the hands, nice black leather sheath, unfortunately the handle was loose so I had to return it. You could feel the micarta grip material wiggle under the hand guard which allowed a sharp edge to be felt. A bit more epoxy at assembly would have prevented the issue, poor quality control on what is a fantastic combination of steel and the great Buck 102 design. No way to fix it as is without tearing the handle completely apart and putting it back together with new…
Mini-119 Pretty darn handy knife. I use this knife for a lot of bushcraft and hunting tasks that sits on my revolver belt with a 119. It and the 119 sit in a crossdraw sheath I’ve purchased off of amazon as well using a carabineer to attach one sheath to another and works quite well. the edge is in a hollow-grind, and much lighter and smaller for tasks requiring detail work. it matches well with the 119 s30v in burgundy micarta.
