The best compass you can buy. I received one of these back in 2004 and it is just as good now as it was day 1, then I bought another one here and it’s clearly the best compass you can get. The new one is much more bright. WaveCrestTactics.com

exactly what i used in the Marine Corps This is the exact model we used in the Marines for land nav. I had been searching for a while because its the only compass that is truly rugged and reliable and I found the one we used. If its tough enough for the USMC then its tough enough for me to take in the back country.

For a Few Bucks More… Originally, I was tempted to go with the cheaper, photo-luminescent version of this compass (Cammenga Model 27) to save a few bucks. In reality, this tritium version (Model 3H) isn’t that much more costly when found for a good price here on Amazon. While it’s too bad that in 12 years the tritium will have gone through a half-life and will not be as bright, the advantages of having a self-illuminating compass are hard to beat, not to mention the uber-coolness factor.
