It has a 2-3″ thick outer shell of a memory foam and you fill the pillow with air as your desired firmness. This pillow is super comfortable as my sleep depends on it. Onwego Travel pillow used in Hennessy hammock tent I used my Henessey Hammock for the first time on a camping trip this weekend.
