and quality I expect from Chef’s Choice this was a real disappointment. Overall, it does what I need it to BUT, the coating inside flaked off!!! You have to make sure you dry it completely after each wash before putting it away. I left mine in the dish wrack to air dry and it peeled. For the name (Premium Metal) price, and quality I expect from Chef’s Choice this was a real disappointment.
Impressive grinder, but 797 (“three piece”) worth the difference I bought this for chopping up meat scraps for my dogs. I just ground up an entire turkey carcass, which had been chopped up into about 1″ chunks and boiled for several hours, and this thing performed great. We’re talking leg bones and everything. The mixer bogged down occasionally (it’s the most powerful Kitchenaid, so your mileage may vary), but overall did fine. Superb meat grinder – very happy with this – ground Venison example w/ photo My son shot his first deer this year and we decided to make our own burger. I opted to buy this grinder attachment – my wife already had the KitchenAid Artisan Mixer – although, I think this works with any of the KitchenAid models. I nearly opted for the cheaper plastic one but chose to spend more on this one – there were some reviews on the plastic one that were concerning. I am so glad I got this one.
