Impressive The Coast HP1 runs on one AA battery. You can use a lithium ion (14500) for more output as well. For ten dollars, this is a great light. Why not five stars then? Well…The light is made of aluminum, which is anodized black. The anodization is Type II, and the black scratches off very easily. I mean, I used a soft metal (non-marring) caliper arm to attach an O-ring for more grip, and that scratched it. After testing, I definitely recommend the HP1 As a police officer and Commercial helicopter pilot, I play with high end toys.This is an especially surprising light. If it was handed to me not knowing the brand or price, after using it I would say it’s a $39-$49 tool.I don not have longevity testing to report. Only 1 night of test and evaluation.
