Not great We bought this as a hand held radio for our dinghy. Its mostly only used short distances from the boat to an island. Its really for emergency and regulations that we keep one on the dinghy. We recently used it to communicate with other boats on a boat trip. Each boat was less than 2 miles apart. It was used so we could keep the boat helm radio on channel 16. We found this radio was hard to hear well on it. There was boat noise but the quality was not like the built in radio at our helm…

Great small, light, waterproof, high performance VHF Great little radio. Great range; excellent voice clarity. I didn’t expect it to be waterproof; but when I fell off a jet ski, not only was it ok; it floated next to me and I was even able to call while partially submerged. To this day after the initial full charge; I have not had to recharge it. It’s been over a month of daily use. OUTSTANDING!!

Nice radio – high quality – 3 power settings Low/Med/High … Nice radio – high quality – 3 power settings Low/Med/High – up to 6watts power output. Comes with charger. Lots of people have posted negative comments about the proprietary charging cradle. The work around is that Cobra sells a AA Battery Tray for this radio (Part #CM 110-024) for about $14. Unfortunately, it does not float – but it gets you away from having to recharge batteries.
