Great microphone. I bought 3 of these, one for each of my Galaxy radios. I’ve fitted two of them and have received very good reports regarding my audio. For the price I could not fault these microphones and they make excellent replacements for the stock units, particularly as the cords are longer than the standard microphone.

Awesome with a few easy modifications. One score-point taken off because modification is needed. My 1978 (first year) Cobra 148 GTL radio from Taiwan had already been properly modified to a 4-pin microphone input, from the original 5-pin mic design, and my custom moving-coil dynamic mic sounds great with my radio, so I had never experimented with a powered condenser mic like this before. First, the “Cobra HG M75 power mic fix/upgrade” is needed to boost output and improve audio tone, but removing their R6 resistor that feeds the…

Works as advertised! The Cobra HG M75 works well, but lacks tonal range. I’m using it with a recently restored Realistic TRC-465 AM/SSB CB radio – this radio has no built-in mic gain and needed a way to boost the audio from the mic to achieve 100% modulation…the M75 accomplishes that. I love the recessed mic gain dial on the back, unlike my RF Limited CR577 with it’s corner mounted dials, the M75 gain adjustment positions stays put while handling the mic.
