Cold Steel Special Forces Shovel W/Sheath The Special Forces Shovel is modeled after the original Soviet Spetznaz shovel. The Spetznaz soldiers made up the most elite unit in the Soviet Army. The U.S. equivalent would be Cold Steel’s Green Berets. The shovel head and socket are forged from medium carbon steel, then heat treated for maximum strength. The edges come sharpened to a utility/axe edge that can easily be improved to razor sharpness. The Special Forces Shovel comes complete with a specially made Cor-Ex sheath. The sheath features an extra wide belt loop. The sheath and the shovel are available for sale as a stand alone items. Considering their price…BUY TWO! You need to own at least two of these. One to keep in your vehicle and one that’s kept in your home or in your camp. They are bombproof! And they can be used for a lot more than just digging.. You might not know this but: in many parks across the US, you can actually be ticketed by rangers if you do not have with you a means of burying your waste (at least 2 foot deep, most places). So; it might even pay for itself, in the form of the ticket you WON’T get..
Make sure that you buy one with a sheath. This is an exceptionally tough small shovel. It is stout, well-made, and will last a long time. The quality exceeded my expectations.
Great Shovel-Great Company! This shovel is hard-core! I purchased it with the sheath (U can also purchase it without said sheath but this would be ill-advised! Seriously!) and it arrived three days after I ordered it.
