Really keeps cold beverages cold; hot beverages not so much I don’t drink beer, but there are plenty of times when it is nice to take a container of a cold or hot beverage. One really nice feature of this container is that it does not leak. Hot or cold, the liquid stays in the container until you decide to pour it out. Another feature is that the screw on cap is tethered to the handle and when opened, the cap flips down to lie against the container, safely tucked out of the way. Coleman Stainless Steel 64 oz Growler – Excellent Performance While a growlers main purpose is to transport draft beer it would be a mistake to overlook the basic functionality of this Coleman model to keep drinks hot or cold for extended periods. To test its ability with cold liquids I added ice cubes until it was about two-thirds full and poured in cool tap water stopping where the stem connects to the vessel. Not what I expected from this company In our household, Coleman is synonymous with camping (Coleman sleeping bags, still going strong after 20 years, Coleman camp stove, Coleman gear bags, etc.). As such, I was thrilled to get this growler, and looking forward to (plastic-free!) hot coffee and iced tea on all of our various road trips, as well as cold beer at the tailgate party.
