Fantastic lantern – brighter than an LED! I have used this handy lantern many times now – hanging from the pop-up canopy, set on a table, and once to carry around the camp ground. It is much brighter than and LED lantern and provided plenty of light for our campsite without infringing on the neighbors nearby. The only potential issue with this lantern is that it does get hot on the outside, so use with CAUTION. The duration of the propane was just as described in the manual. I love this lantern and would not go camping without it.

Great light yet cumbersome Easy to light, burns very well, gives off great light as well as heat. Very cumbersome, though. The lantern comes out of the base by lifting by the spindly metal handle (so it can easily go from sitting on the table to hanging from a hook in a tree) but this means it’s a two-hand job to simply move the lantern from one end of the table to another and one must carry the base around if you intend to set the lantern down anywhere. Other than that, it’s a great “primitive camping” lantern.

they really smell when they’re burning for the first time before using the lantern) it starts very easily. It’s very bright on h Some reviewers found the glass thin on this lamp. Since I don’t plan to throw it around, I don’t see a big deal with the thickness of the glass. Here are the facts as I see them after a 5 day, 4 night hunting/camping trip. It works. Once the mantles are set up (do this down wind, they really smell when they’re burning for the first time before using the lantern) it starts very easily. It’s very bright on high with two additional settings for lower light. There’s no messing with white…
