Great for “stealth” color so appropriate for mixed use, and day hikes. Not really good for heavy backpacking in rough terrain. Exactly as ordered. Fit is fine. No grommets or rivets to irritate ur feet. Gray color is perfect fir a cross country road trip – will “pass” in a pinch for church or the city – no bright annoying colors so highly efficient for limited packing. I’m sure they will be fine for a 4 hour jaunt up a mesa or down a rocky beach. But without a top one or two rows of hook/grommet lacing, heavy ankle support isn’t there. I would not depend on these for backpacking. Water proof? Dunno yet.

Comfortable, but they have to be broken in first. Really stiff at first and oddly tall. The proportions in real life look a bit different than one would expect from the pictures. Its hard to explain but the shoes have a more narrow toe and look… tall? These are hiking boots, not trail runners. Don’t expect them to be that flexible. The tongues are thin and don’t offer much protection from the shoelaces digging into the top of your foot. Once broken in they are comfortable and awesome!

Don’t get me wrong, I purchased these shoes as a replacement for my last pair of Timberlands that wore out way too fast, and these were half the price. A great affordable waterproof hiking shoe, but if you had…
