Order one size bigger than your normal size!! Good shoe, wore hiking the day I got them. They are very comfortable and offer good ankle support. They are waterproof I hiked through snow and crossed two creeks wearing them the first day and the insides were dry.

Tested in Arctic and Temperate Conditions The perfect boot! I’ve used these for hiking the Coastal Mountains of California as well as hiking the snow of Reykjavik, Iceland and Oslo, Norway. These boots even handled great for quick walks on the streets of Tromso, Norway 350km North of the Arctic Circle where temperatures were -6C to -12C. They kept my feet warm and dry even after hours of trudging through the snow in Oslo and have great grip on both ice in the Arctic and the steep mountains of California.

They Really Do Run Small When I shop for hiking boots, I want comfort and durability. The Columbia North Plains Drifter lives up to its promise to be “water-proof” and then some. I took these out recently in the middle of sudden winter thaw and driving rain – at some places, the trail was immersed in three inches of water. My feet were warm and dry throughout. Just be sure to buy a size or so larger than you generally do, as they run small. I bought a size 9.5 and my toes, unfortunately, are a little squished.
