Too Snug in the Seat Columbia has apparently changed the pattern and cut of the Roc II line. The shorts are cut way too snug in the seat which resulted in a perpetual “wedgie” for me. I have at least three pairs of earlier model Roc IIs which fit perfectly. I wish clothing companies would at least change the name of a line when they change the specifications.

Very nice casual shorts I have several of this same line in long pants and now love the shorts, too. The fabric is great: lightweight and fairly soft but tough and wears well, and they are well made. Relaxed fit and the waist seems a bit larger than stated size but not by much. The 8″ length come to just above my knees which works well. I really wanted to like these shorts Man, I really wanted to like these shorts. The fabric is great (I mean fantastic, soft but a little nubbly and thick), the color is great, I like the layout of the pockets and it fits well in the waist and butt. HOWEVER, the leg openings are kind of insanely big, at least on me. I have slender thighs but am a little thick in the middle (38″), and short manufacturers seem to be convinced that anyone with a 38″ waist must have big thighs. Columbia seems to think I must be an elephant…
