One of the most decorated knives of all time is back. The snap Lock Held the knife world in rapture when it won the most innovative knife award at the 2004 blade show. We’re breathing new life into this unique everyday carry folder and bringing back the 180° swing opening. If you think that it might be all show and No substance, spend a mere minute with it and you’ll do a 180° swing yourself. From his shop in Abingdon, Virginia, Ed van Hoy dreamed up this historical design. It’s not only one of the most unique knives on the market, but it’s one of the most useful— it features a money clip, and is remarkably low profile so it’s never a burden. Plus, a quick-release lanyard adds a neck-carry option so it’s always at-hand. The stainless steel blade has a subtle drop point shape and supremely capable triple point serrations. When Closed, the matching wishbone frame is a 100% effective blade edge guard. The unique open mechanism becomes instantly intuitive once you push down on the front lever then rotate the blade out-wards for a full 180°. once open, the minimal but very usable handle is extremely safe: the snap Lock mechanism secures the knife so the harder you grip it, the more it locks the blade in place thanks to multiple positive locking surfaces between the frame and locking lugs. This knife made history, get your hands on a piece of ed’s legacy with the snap Lock with triple point serrations reissue.

Excellent but be careful who you hand it to. Not a knife to hand to just anyone. It takes a while to get used to, and it’s cut me a few times (no surprise, I’m used to it). It’s one of the coolest knives I own, but I wouldn’t give anyone this knife unless they’re used to handling knives and aren’t afraid of the small cuts that it’ll give you. If they’re just barely starting to collect knives or haven’t owned knives for a few years, you should wait to get them this knife. If you’re looking for a gift, it’s a perfect gift because…

Very cool. I haven’t had it long, but it seems to be high quality, I don’t imagine it will be the most durable knife ever but I knew that going into it judging by the photo. Love the unique mechanism, not the most ergonomic but very cool nevertheless, I enjoy opening and closing it.This is also a very practical blade style, the shape plus serration are optimal for cutting ropes and lines both against surfaces and wrapped around the blade under tension.

This thing is so f’ing cool! I’m really enjoying opening and closing it This thing is so f’ing cool! I’m really enjoying opening and closing it, and I’m sure it will be a hit with the people I work with. I usually run my thumb over the blade of a new knife just to see how fine the edge is, and this one was the first to actually draw blood so it’s sharp as f—. When locked, it feels solid, doesn’t wobble. The only complaint I have, and a very minor one at that is the clip is a little low, so when clipped to my pocket, part of the blade is showing. Usually I like to…
