This is the one you’ll want by your side if mud, blood, and weather lie in your path. Bring along the Acquisition tactical knife, and you’ll acquire much more than a dependable everyday carry. It’s covert enough to keep on your person when things get scrappy, and beefy enough to mow over backcountry business. Pat Crawford of West Memphis, Arkansas notoriously designs knives with self defense in mind, and this ominous-looking modified drop point blade is no exception. The handle design gives you maximum control and 3 inches plus of black powder coated steel is good for on mission or in the field. Tough glass reinforced nylon handles help maintain a confident grip even when you’re elbow-deep in mud or blood while the sleek, gear compatible sheath keeps it poised for grabbing at a moment’s notice. Really like it, but even more with a bit of modification. I really like this knife. It fits and handles well in my hand and has very good balance. The only thing I didn’t like was that despite the deep grooving in the handle scales they were too smooth and slippery for me. So I got out my roughest sharpening stone and gave the scales a good scratching in. The result, a much better grip. It puts me in mind of canvas Micarta. OK it’s not that good, but it’s way better than the way it came.

Blade awesome…someone help with hardware Had my eye on this knife for a while. I read reviews on how bad the hardware was but I discounted those. This is a very sharp well purposed high carbon 1095 blade and the sheath is great. However the sheath attachments / lack of hardware make me really disappointed in CRKT which has become my favorite brand for the last few yearsUpdate:I used a Serpa level 2 belt holster attachment and made a great rig for this sheath.

The knife itself is great and the sheath is good The knife itself is great and the sheath is good. The hook for your pants is so-so and the hardware provided is not good. The screw backs out all the time and needs constant re-tightening. Needs a redesign on the hardware or a riveted clip. Otherwise the knife is VERY sharp and very comfortable in the hand. Works great as an EDC or hunting/utility knife.
