So far so good. I worry these might be a little hot in any sort of warm weather or direct sun. Good thing they convert to shorts. Need to see how they do when you sweat a lot in them. Also when they get wet. Seem well designed enough and they fit my fat Butte so I can now start hiking with lightweight pants.

Finally, I can get out and hike in something other than sweatpants! I’m very pleased that these pants come in the extremely large size I require; the 54 inch waist was even a little too big! (a slight mismeasurement on my part, not a flaw per se). Though I marked them “fit as expected” (the closest option), the ratio between waist and thighs did seem a bit odd–tight in the thighs but “poofy” in the, um, groinal region. I’m sticking with the larger waist size since anything smaller will cut into my leg, especially when I wear them as shorts…
